Does SodaSlim Really Work? What a Fair Test Would Need to Show

Does SodaSlim really work? We found no evidence either way, because no trial tested the capsule. Reviews of green coffee and garcinia alone found differences of about 1.2 and 0.9 kg, with quality doubts. A fair test needs a placebo group, and you can track your own results.

Does Soda Slim work?

Nobody can say yet. A trial would need to give SodaSlim to some people and a look-alike capsule to others, and we found no such trial.

What exists is research on single ingredients. A 2020 meta-analysis of 15 green coffee trials (897 people) found about 1.23 kg less weight, but it also found no link between result and chlorogenic acid dose (Asbaghi 2020, green coffee meta). An earlier review of three trials found 2.47 kg, with every trial at high risk of bias (Onakpoya 2011, green coffee review). Neither tested the five rows together.

    A meta-analysis found caffeine 'might promote' weight loss, but results varied widely and the studies were small; the label's 138 mg is about a third of the FDA reference. (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine) (EFSA, caffeine safe intakes)

  • Green Tea

    Very little

    The Cochrane review found a 0.04 kg difference outside Japan, which it called not likely clinically important. (Jurgens 2012, Cochrane green tea) (EFSA 2018, green tea catechins)

Is there proof SodaSlim works?

No. We found no trial of the capsule, and the label's claims are starred lines the FDA has not evaluated. Ingredient studies are small, short or inconsistent. Proof would need a placebo-controlled test of the actual product.

Do the reviews on weight loss pills show they work?

Not by themselves. The FTC says testimonials are not proof of a health claim, and health claims need reliable scientific evidence (FTC health products guidance). Photos and stories cannot show what would have happened without the product.

What does a 1 kg difference mean?

In the meta-analyses it is an average across groups, often over weeks to months. 1.23 kg is about 2.7 pounds (1.23 x 2.2), and an individual result can be higher, lower or none.
