Guide: stacking caffeine
Can you take SodaSlim with coffee? How caffeine stacking adds up
Can you take SodaSlim with coffee? The label gives no rule about coffee, but each capsule has at least 138 mg of caffeine, about a third of the 400 mg a day FDA uses as a reference for healthy adults. Every cup, tea and energy drink you add counts toward the same total. Ask a clinician first if you take medicine.

The short answer
Can you take SodaSlim with coffee?
The label does not forbid coffee and does not approve it either, so the real question is how much caffeine your whole day holds. One SodaSlim capsule has at least 138 mg of caffeine before you pour a cup (SodaSlim label).
The only direction printed is "As a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule daily." There is no word about coffee, tea, food or time of day. The caution says to consult a physician before use, especially with a medication or a medical condition.
FDA gives 400 mg a day as an amount not generally linked with bad effects in healthy adults, and says supplements can add caffeine on top of drinks (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine). The capsule alone is 138 / 400 = 34.5%, about a third of that line. Coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks and chocolate fill the rest.
This is a capsule, not a soda or an energy drink.
Caffeine stacking
What is caffeine stacking, and where does the caffeine come from?
Caffeine stacking means adding caffeine from several sources in one day, so the total is larger than any single item suggests. In this capsule, three rows can carry caffeine.
Only the caffeine anhydrous row prints a caffeine amount. That is why we write "at least 138 mg", never "exactly". The table shows what the label does and does not say.
| Label row | Row amount | Caffeine |
|---|---|---|
| Caffeine Anhydrous | 138 mg | 138 mg (the row is the caffeine) |
| Green Coffee Bean Extract | 130 mg | Not printed |
| Green Tea Extract | 130 mg | Under 4 mg (130 x under 3%) |
| Raspberry Ketone | 130 mg | None listed |
| Garcinia Extract | 130 mg | None listed |
So the total is the 138 mg row, plus under 4 mg from the tea row, plus whatever the coffee row holds. The label does not say how much that is. Plan for more than 138 mg, not less.

How much caffeine is too much with SodaSlim and coffee?
No source gives one cutoff for everyone, but reference lines exist: 100 mg may affect sleep for some people, 200 mg is a single-dose reference, and 400 mg a day is FDA's adult reference (EFSA, caffeine safe intakes) (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine).
The capsule sits at 138 / 200 = 69%, about 70%, of the 200 mg single-dose reference, and above the 100 mg sleep note. During pregnancy ACOG advises under 200 mg a day (ACOG, caffeine in pregnancy), and the label says the capsule is not for pregnant or nursing mothers. FDA places toxic effects near 1,200 mg taken quickly, far above these lines.
The cup below starts with the capsule already inside. Tap the drinks you really have in a day. Amounts are EFSA/FDA approximations, such as 90 mg for 200 ml of filter coffee; real products vary, so read the drink label.
138 mg of 400 mg
Just the capsule: 138 mg from the label's caffeine row.
1 SodaSlim capsule, pre-loaded: 138 mg (label)
Typical caffeine per serving
| Drink | Serving | Caffeine |
|---|---|---|
| Espresso shot | 60 ml | 80 mg |
| Filter coffee | 200 ml | 90 mg |
| Black tea | 220 ml | 50 mg |
| Green tea | 12 oz | 37 mg |
| Cola | 355 ml can | 40 mg |
| Energy drink | 250 ml can | 80 mg |
The 138 mg is the caffeine row on the SodaSlim label (SodaSlim label); the coffee and tea rows may add some, and the label does not say how much. 200 mg a day is the ACOG pregnancy reference (ACOG, caffeine in pregnancy); 400 mg a day is the FDA general adult reference, about two to three 12-ounce cups of coffee (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine). Drink amounts are typical and vary by brand. This is a counting aid, not medical advice: ask a clinician about your own limit.
Green coffee
Does green coffee extract add caffeine?
It may, and the label does not say how much. The green coffee row is listed by its chlorogenic acids (50%), not by caffeine, so its own caffeine is unknown.
The sum for the acids is 130 mg x 50% = about 65 mg. The other half of the row is not described on the label, so any total is an estimate, and a person who reacts strongly should treat it as low.
Green tea extract is the smaller piece. Its row says under 3% caffeine, which is under 4 mg of the 130 mg, or less than three percent of the 138 mg caffeine row.

Does coffee plus green tea help with weight? What the studies found
No trial tested SodaSlim, or any coffee-plus-capsule routine, so nobody can say that stacking helps weight. The studies we found looked at single ingredients, and the results were small or uncertain.
The phrase "fat burner" is a store-shelf category, not a description of this capsule.
| Study | Who and how long | Outcome | Gap to the label |
|---|---|---|---|
| Caffeine and weight, 2019 (Tabrizi 2019, caffeine and weight) | 13 trials, 606 people | Caffeine "might promote" weight loss, with very large differences between trials (I2 above 91%) | Doses and users varied; not this capsule |
| Green tea review, Cochrane (Jurgens 2012, Cochrane green tea) | Trials outside Japan | Difference of -0.04 kg, "not likely clinically important" | Tea products, not this mix |
| Green coffee, 2020 (Asbaghi 2020, green coffee meta) | 15 trials, 897 people | -1.23 kg; no link between chlorogenic acid dose and result | Label has about 65 mg of acids |
NCCIH describes a "modest effect on body weight" for green tea products (NCCIH, Green tea). Add the doubts about study quality, and a coffee habit is not a reason to expect a result. No trial tested SodaSlim.
Signs to watch
What are the signs of too much caffeine with SodaSlim?
Jitters, a pounding heart, trouble sleeping or an upset stomach are the usual signs of too much caffeine, and they are a reason to cut back and call a clinician.
Concentrated extracts bring a second worry. NIH liver references report acute liver injury linked to some green tea extract and garcinia products, and EFSA found no safe dose for EGCG supplements (LiverTox, green tea) (van Breemen 2025, garcinia liver) (EFSA 2018, green tea catechins). Causes are not proven for this product, and nothing says SodaSlim was involved.
- Racing or pounding heartbeat, chest painStop the capsules. Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing: call 911 now. A racing heart that will not settle needs medical care.
- Jitters, shakiness, anxiety or no sleepCommon signs of too much caffeine. Stop, cut other caffeine and ask a clinician; FDA says the toxic range starts far above the daily reference.
- Dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, belly pain, nauseaCan be signs of liver trouble, which has been reported with green tea extract and garcinia products. Stop and get medical care the same day.
- Stomach pain, nausea or loose stoolsCommon with caffeine and garcinia. Stop and ask a clinician if it lasts.
- Rash, hives or swellingPossible allergy. Stop and get medical help; swelling of the face or throat or trouble breathing is an emergency.
Signs from (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine) (LiverTox, green tea) (LiverTox, Garcinia cambogia) (FDA report a problem). This list is not complete. A supplement is never a reason to wait.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before combining the capsule with coffee if you take any prescription medicine, or have heart rhythm trouble, high blood pressure, anxiety, sleep trouble, thyroid or liver disease. Caffeine and green tea extract can interact with medicines (NCCIH using supplements wisely). Keep taking prescribed medicine as directed. Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing: call 911.
A practical plan
How can you keep track of caffeine while taking SodaSlim?
Write down every caffeinated item for a week, add the capsule's 138 mg, and compare the total with the reference lines above. A written log beats guessing.
- List each coffee, tea, soda, energy drink and pre-workout powder, with its size.
- Count the capsule as 138 mg, then add a margin for the coffee row, since its caffeine is not printed.
- Note sleep and any jitters beside the total. A change after you start is useful information for your clinician.
The label says one capsule daily and not to exceed the recommended dose. A second capsule, or a stronger coffee to match it, moves the total up fast. See the caffeine budget guide and the medicine interactions guide for the long form, and the ingredient pages for each row.
FAQ
SodaSlim questions people ask
Is it okay to drink coffee while taking SodaSlim?
The label does not say. It lists at least 138 mg of caffeine a capsule and tells you to consult a physician first, especially with medicines or a medical condition. Coffee adds to the same daily total, so count both and ask a clinician if you are unsure.
How much caffeine is in SodaSlim with a cup of coffee?
The capsule is at least 138 mg, and a cup adds its own amount, which varies by bean, size and brew. FDA's table lists typical drink amounts. Add the two: the sum, not the capsule alone, is your total for the day.
Does green coffee have caffeine?
It can. The SodaSlim green coffee row lists 50% chlorogenic acids, about 65 mg, but does not print its own caffeine. That is why the label total is stated as at least 138 mg and not an exact figure.
Can I take SodaSlim with an energy drink?
The label gives no energy drink advice. Many energy drinks carry their own caffeine, and the capsule already holds at least 138 mg. FDA's 400 mg reference counts all sources together, so add the drink's printed caffeine to your total before deciding.
What is caffeine stacking?
Caffeine stacking is taking caffeine from several products in one day, such as a supplement, coffee and an energy drink. The total, not any one item, is what matters. SodaSlim's capsule counts as the first item at 138 mg or more.
Is SodaSlim with coffee a good way to lose weight?
We found no trial that tested it. Reviews of caffeine and green tea found small or uncertain differences, and none tested this capsule. For weight, sleep, movement and food have the better-sourced support; see the healthy-weight basics guide.
