Side effects

SodaSlim side effects: caffeine, stomach, liver and medicine risks

Quick answer

SodaSlim side effects have not been studied in the capsule itself. The risks come from its rows: at least 138 mg of caffeine a capsule can cause jitters or poor sleep, garcinia was linked to stomach upset, and garcinia and concentrated green tea products have liver injury reports. Dark urine or yellow skin means stop and get care.

The short list

What are the side effects of SodaSlim?

No trial recorded side effects of the SodaSlim capsule, so the possible effects come from what each row is known to do.

The label says "Contains Caffeine" and prints a caution. It does not list any effects of the capsule. The sources point to three groups: caffeine effects, stomach effects, and rare liver injury. The label also says not to exceed the recommended dose and to consult a physician first if you take a medication or have a medical condition (SodaSlim label).

"Safe" is a word we do not use as a fact about this product. FDA says supplements can carry risks and are not approved before sale (FDA 101 supplements). Everyone reacts differently, and a common effect for one person may never appear for another.

Row by row

Which SodaSlim ingredient causes which side effect?

Caffeine is the most likely source of day-to-day effects, and garcinia and green tea extract are the rows with liver reports.

Reported effects by label row (sources describe single ingredients, not SodaSlim)
Row (per capsule)What sources report
Caffeine anhydrous, 138 mgFaster heartbeat, jitters and disturbed sleep are the usual signs of too much; EFSA says about 100 mg can affect sleep for some (EFSA, caffeine safe intakes).
Garcinia extract, 130 mgStomach events twice as common in one study (Onakpoya 2011, garcinia meta); acute liver injury reports (LiverTox, Garcinia cambogia).
Green tea extract, 130 mgLiver injury is uncommon but reported (NCCIH, Green tea); interacts with some medicines.
Green coffee bean extract, 130 mgIts own caffeine is not stated on the label, so it may add to the total.
Raspberry ketone, 130 mgWe found no human safety data on the ketone alone

Caffeine

Can the caffeine in SodaSlim cause jitters and poor sleep?

Yes, it can, because each capsule has at least 138 mg of caffeine, and caffeine causes jitters, a faster heartbeat and poor sleep when the total is high for you.

FDA's 400 mg a day reference for healthy adults counts coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks and supplements together, and one capsule is about a third of it (138 / 400). Toxic effects begin near 1,200 mg taken fast (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine). EFSA gives 200 mg as a single dose and says about 100 mg can affect sleep (EFSA, caffeine safe intakes). For pregnancy, ACOG advises under 200 mg a day, and the label says the capsule is not for pregnant or nursing mothers (ACOG, caffeine in pregnancy).

Typical caffeine per serving
Typical amounts, which vary by brand; check the drink label.
DrinkServingCaffeine
Espresso shot60 ml80 mg
Filter coffee200 ml90 mg
Black tea220 ml50 mg
Green tea12 oz37 mg
Cola355 ml can40 mg
Energy drink250 ml can80 mg

The 138 mg is the caffeine row on the SodaSlim label (SodaSlim label); the coffee and tea rows may add some, and the label does not say how much. 200 mg a day is the ACOG pregnancy reference (ACOG, caffeine in pregnancy); 400 mg a day is the FDA general adult reference, about two to three 12-ounce cups of coffee (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine). Drink amounts are typical and vary by brand. This is a counting aid, not medical advice: ask a clinician about your own limit.

Liver

Can SodaSlim cause liver problems?

We cannot say it does, and nothing we found says SodaSlim was involved, but liver injury has been reported with two of its rows.

NIH's LiverTox links garcinia products to acute liver injury that can be severe or fatal (LiverTox, Garcinia cambogia). A 2025 review counted more than 200 liver events, 34 case reports, 1 death and 9 transplants, and noted a USP caution (van Breemen 2025, garcinia liver). Green tea extract has also been implicated in acute liver injury, including failure and transplant (LiverTox, green tea). EFSA's 2018 concern was for EGCG supplements at 800 mg a day, and it named no safe dose; tea made as a drink is generally safe (EFSA 2018, green tea catechins). The label has about 58 mg of EGCG (130 x 45%), about 7% of 800 mg.

Most reports involve concentrated extracts, and the cause is not proven for this product. If you have liver disease or have had liver trouble, ask a clinician first. Dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or belly pain: stop and get care the same day.

Stop signs

What signs mean I should stop taking SodaSlim?

Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing means call 911 now. The other signs below mean stop the capsules and ask a clinician.

  1. Racing or pounding heartbeat, chest painStop the capsules. Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing: call 911 now. A racing heart that will not settle needs medical care.
  2. Jitters, shakiness, anxiety or no sleepCommon signs of too much caffeine. Stop, cut other caffeine and ask a clinician; FDA says the toxic range starts far above the daily reference.
  3. Dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, belly pain, nauseaCan be signs of liver trouble, which has been reported with green tea extract and garcinia products. Stop and get medical care the same day.
  4. Stomach pain, nausea or loose stoolsCommon with caffeine and garcinia. Stop and ask a clinician if it lasts.
  5. Rash, hives or swellingPossible allergy. Stop and get medical help; swelling of the face or throat or trouble breathing is an emergency.

Signs from (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine) (LiverTox, green tea) (LiverTox, Garcinia cambogia) (FDA report a problem). This list is not complete. A supplement is never a reason to wait.

You can report a reaction to the FDA (FDA report a problem). For an order problem, use the order desk, not the website inbox.

Medicines

Does SodaSlim interact with medicines?

It can, because caffeine and green tea extract can interact with medicines, and the label tells you to consult a physician first if you take any.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist first if you take any prescription medicine, a thyroid, blood pressure, heart-rhythm, anxiety, depression, sleep or diabetes medicine, or if you have a heart condition or high blood pressure (NCCIH using supplements wisely). Keep taking prescribed medicine. Never stop or change one because you started a supplement.

Blood pressure matters here. Normal is under 120/80, it usually has no symptoms, and 180/120 with symptoms is an emergency (AHA, BP readings). Read the medicine interactions guide and the liver safety guide next.

If a side effect appears, stop, write down what you took and when, and tell a clinician. See also who it is for and how to use it.

FAQ

Questions about SodaSlim side effects

What are the most common SodaSlim side effects?

No trial counted them in this capsule. The likeliest are caffeine effects: jitters, a faster heartbeat and poor sleep, since each capsule has at least 138 mg. One study of garcinia also found stomach events twice as common, so an upset stomach is possible.

Is SodaSlim safe to take every day?

We cannot call it safe as a fact. The label directs one capsule daily and says to consult a physician first with a medicine or condition. We found no study of daily use for this capsule, and liver reports exist for garcinia and concentrated green tea products.

Does Soda Slim cause anxiety or a racing heart?

It can in people who are sensitive to caffeine, since a capsule has at least 138 mg. A racing heart that will not settle, or any chest pain, needs medical care. Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing: call 911.

Can SodaSlim upset your stomach?

Possibly. A 2011 review of garcinia found stomach events twice as common in one study, and caffeine can irritate some people's stomachs. If stomach pain, nausea or loose stools last, stop and ask a clinician.

How do I report a side effect from a supplement?

Tell a clinician first, then report the reaction to the FDA through its reporting page. For an order or refund, call the order desk. The website inbox cannot see orders, and the label's distributor line handles product questions.

Are there any side effects if I stop taking SodaSlim?

We found no source on stopping this capsule, and the label says nothing about it. If you notice symptoms after stopping, or you stopped because of a reaction, tell a clinician.
