Guides
Weight management supplement guides: caffeine, safety and label reading
These weight management supplement guides answer eight questions about a capsule with five label rows and at least 138 mg of caffeine. Each guide gives the general answer first, from FDA, FTC, NIH and CDC sources, then ties it to the label in one short section. No trial has tested SodaSlim. Start with the caffeine guide.

Which supplement safety guide should I read first?
Read the caffeine guide first, because every SodaSlim capsule holds at least 138 mg of caffeine from one label row alone. Then pick the guide that matches your question.
Each guide opens with the general answer, using FDA, FTC, NIH and CDC pages and published studies. Only after that does it connect to the label of this 30-capsule supplement. SodaSlim is a capsule, not a soda, and no trial has tested it.
Caffeine budget
Add up the capsule, coffee, tea and energy drinks against the FDA and ACOG reference lines.
Liver safety

All eight
What does each SodaSlim guide cover?
The eight guides split into three groups: taking a capsule with caffeine, understanding weight, and judging claims.
| Guide | Question it answers |
|---|---|
| Caffeine budget | How much caffeine counts in a day? |
| SodaSlim with coffee | What happens when drinks stack on the capsule? |
| Liver safety | What is known about extracts and the liver? |
| Who should not take SodaSlim | Who is the label not for? |
| Medicine interactions | Which medicines need a pharmacist's view? |
| Healthy weight basics | What do sleep, food and movement do? |
| Reading weight-loss ads | Which promises should you doubt? |
| A capsule, not a soda | Is any of it a drink? |
Caffeine
How do caffeine and supplements add up?
They add up from every source in a day, not just the capsule. The FDA's reference for healthy adults is 400 mg a day, and supplements add to what drinks already supply (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine).
One SodaSlim capsule has at least 138 mg of caffeine, about a third of that reference (138 / 400 = 0.35). The coffee extract row may add more, and the label does not say. ACOG advises under 200 mg a day in pregnancy (ACOG, caffeine in pregnancy), and the label says the capsule is not for pregnant or nursing mothers.
138 mg of 400 mg
Just the capsule: 138 mg from the label's caffeine row.
1 SodaSlim capsule, pre-loaded: 138 mg (label)
Typical caffeine per serving
| Drink | Serving | Caffeine |
|---|---|---|
| Espresso shot | 60 ml | 80 mg |
| Filter coffee | 200 ml | 90 mg |
| Black tea | 220 ml | 50 mg |
| Green tea | 12 oz | 37 mg |
| Cola | 355 ml can | 40 mg |
| Energy drink | 250 ml can | 80 mg |
The 138 mg is the caffeine row on the SodaSlim label (SodaSlim label); the coffee and tea rows may add some, and the label does not say how much. 200 mg a day is the ACOG pregnancy reference (ACOG, caffeine in pregnancy); 400 mg a day is the FDA general adult reference, about two to three 12-ounce cups of coffee (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine). Drink amounts are typical and vary by brand. This is a counting aid, not medical advice: ask a clinician about your own limit.
The long version is in the caffeine budget guide.
Weight basics
What do guides say about weight management beyond supplements?
They say weight rests on food, activity, sleep and stress together, and that fad diets tend not to last (CDC, About Healthy Weight and Growth). A capsule is not part of that list.
Adults are advised to get 150 minutes a week of moderate activity plus 2 days of strengthening (CDC, Adult activity), and 7 or more hours of sleep a night (CDC, Sleep). In one lab study, short sleep added about 385 kcal of eating without changing energy use (Al Khatib 2017, sleep and energy balance). For medical options, ask a clinician; the NIH notes prescription medicines are for people who qualify (NIDDK, Prescription weight medications).
- Sleep firstIn a review of trials, short sleep raised food intake by about 385 calories a day without changing energy use; adults need 7 or more hours a night. (Al Khatib 2017, sleep and energy balance) (CDC, Sleep)
- Moving most daysThe HHS guidelines say 150 to 300 minutes of moderate activity a week plus muscle strengthening on 2 or more days; walking counts. (Piercy 2018, Physical Activity Guidelines) (CDC, Adult activity)
- Fibre and fullnessA review found viscous fibres reduced appetite in more studies (59%) than other fibres (14%), though the effects on weight were small. (Wanders 2011, fibre and appetite)
- The whole routineCDC's healthy-weight page points to food, activity, sleep and stress together, and says fad diets tend not to last. (CDC, About Healthy Weight and Growth)
- Know your blood pressureHigh blood pressure usually has no symptoms and matters when you add caffeine; normal is under 120/80. (AHA, BP readings) (CDC, High blood pressure)
- A clinician's optionsNIDDK describes prescription weight medicines, who qualifies and why lifestyle comes first; a supplement is not on that list. (NIDDK, Prescription weight medications)
Keep taking prescribed medicine, and never stop one because you started a supplement. The full guide is healthy weight basics.

How do I judge weight-loss supplement claims?
Judge them by the evidence behind the words. The FTC says health claims need reliable scientific evidence, and that a testimonial is not proof (FTC health products guidance).
Weight-loss products are a known area of FTC action (FTC, Truth Behind Weight Loss Ads) and of FDA warnings about hidden drug ingredients (FDA, hidden ingredients in weight loss). We say this calmly and do not suggest SodaSlim is on any warning list. We found no trial of the capsule, so its starred label lines stay in quotation marks on this site.
- Doubt any promise of a set number of pounds or days.
- Doubt before-and-after photos and reviews you cannot check.
- Doubt a claim that a product is risk-free or "100% natural".
- Check whether the study used the same amount as the label.
The guide reading weight-loss ads goes through each trick.
Label practice
Can I practice reading a supplement label?
Yes. Pop two bubbles to match an ingredient to its printed amount, and see how quickly a label gives up its numbers.
Four of the five rows print 130 mg, so any 130 mg bubble fits those. The fifth, caffeine anhydrous, prints 138 mg. The five rows add up to 658 mg (4 x 130 + 138).
- Green coffee130 mg
- Raspberry ketone130 mg
- Garcinia130 mg
- Caffeine138 mg
- Green tea130 mg
Amounts come from the Supplement Facts panel (SodaSlim label), per capsule. Four rows print 130 mg, so any 130 mg bubble fits those four. Each round deals four of the five rows. It is a game about reading a label, not a test of anything else.
When to get care
When should a supplement question go to a clinician?
Go to a clinician before use if you take any medicine, have a heart, liver, thyroid or blood pressure condition, or are pregnant, nursing or under 18.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist first if you take a thyroid, blood pressure, heart-rhythm, anxiety, depression, sleep or diabetes medicine. Caffeine and green tea extract can interact with medicines (NCCIH using supplements wisely). Dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or belly pain: stop and get care. Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing: call 911.
Tools such as the fit check help you prepare questions. They do not replace the visit.
FAQ
Guide questions
What are the SodaSlim guides?
They are eight plain-language reads: caffeine budget, SodaSlim with coffee, liver safety, who should not take it, medicine interactions, healthy weight basics, reading weight-loss ads, and why SodaSlim is a capsule, not a soda. Each cites FDA, FTC, NIH or CDC pages.
Which guide should I read first?
Start with the caffeine budget. One capsule holds at least 138 mg of caffeine on the label, and drinks add to it. After that, read the guide on who should not take it, then the one that fits your own question.
Do the guides say SodaSlim helps with weight?
No. They report what studies of single ingredients found, with who, dose and time, and they say that no trial tested SodaSlim. Weight is covered by food, activity, sleep and stress, and a clinician can advise you.
Are the guides a substitute for a doctor?
No. They explain a label and published sources, and they cannot weigh your medicines or conditions. A doctor or pharmacist can. Keep taking prescribed medicine as directed unless your clinician changes it.
Where do the guides get their facts?
From the printed label, the seller's checkout and linked FDA, FTC, NIH, CDC and peer-reviewed pages. Each claim names its source, and where we found none we say so. The editorial standards page explains the method.
Is there a guide about SodaSlim being a drink?
Yes. SodaSlim is a capsule sold by a USA retailer, with no carbonation and no can. This site covers no drink and no other country's product. The capsule guide answers searches for soda slim cans.
