Caffeine supplement drug interactions: a medicine check for SodaSlim
Caffeine supplement drug interactions are possible, and the SodaSlim label says to consult a physician if you take a medication. Each capsule has at least 138 mg of caffeine and 130 mg of green tea extract, and NCCIH notes green tea can interact with medicines. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

The short answer
Can SodaSlim interact with my medicines?
It can, and the label treats that as likely enough to say so: consult a physician prior to use, especially if you are taking a medication.
NCCIH warns that supplements can interact with medicines and follow looser rules than drugs (NCCIH using supplements wisely). FDA adds that a product meant to treat disease is a drug, and supplements are not reviewed before sale (FDA 101 supplements). SodaSlim is a supplement, not a drug, so nobody has run the checks a medicine would face.
We do not list individual drug pairs on this site. We found no source that tested this five-row capsule alongside any medicine. What we can do is show which parts of the label to ask about, and give you a way to bring the question to a pharmacist, who has interaction databases.
Caffeine
Which medicines should I ask about with a caffeine supplement?
Ask about any prescription medicine, and name thyroid, blood pressure, heart-rhythm, anxiety, depression, sleep and diabetes medicines first.
The reason is the caffeine. One capsule has at least 138 mg, about a third of FDA's 400 mg reference for healthy adults, and caffeine can bring a faster heartbeat, jitters and poor sleep (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine) (EFSA, caffeine safe intakes). A medicine that treats the same body system deserves a second look. The table gives the plain reason each group is on the list. It is not a list of proven interactions.
| Medicine group | Why ask |
|---|---|
| Heart rhythm | Caffeine can quicken the heartbeat |
| Blood pressure | High blood pressure often has no symptoms, so a change can go unnoticed |
| Anxiety, depression | Caffeine can cause jitters and anxiety-like feelings |
| Sleep | About 100 mg of caffeine can affect sleep in some people |
| Thyroid, diabetes | The label asks for a physician's advice with any medical condition |
| Any other prescription | The label asks everyone taking a medication to consult first |
Ask your doctor or pharmacist first if you take any prescription medicine or have liver disease, a heart condition or high blood pressure. Not for under 18, pregnant or nursing (label). Chest pain, fainting, a racing heart that will not settle or trouble breathing: call 911.
Green tea
Does green tea extract interact with medicines?
NCCIH says green tea can interact with some medicines, so the answer is yes in principle, and you should ask about the green tea row too (NCCIH, Green tea).
The SodaSlim green tea row is 130 mg of extract, 45% EGCG, so about 58 mg of EGCG (130 x 0.45). It also holds under 4 mg of caffeine (130 x under 3%), which adds to the caffeine row. We found no source that says at what amount of extract a given interaction starts, so no amount can be called too low to matter.
Green tea extract has also been linked to liver injury in concentrated forms (LiverTox, green tea). Anything that can stress the liver is a question for a clinician when you take other medicines. See the liver guide for the reports and warning signs.
Garcinia
Does garcinia cambogia interact with medicines?
We found no source in our set that lists medicine interactions for garcinia, so we cannot say yes or no. What the sources do report is liver injury.
NIH's LiverTox links garcinia products to acute liver injury that can be severe or fatal (LiverTox, Garcinia cambogia), and a 2025 review counted more than 200 liver events (van Breemen 2025, garcinia liver). The SodaSlim garcinia row is 130 mg at 50% HCA, about 65 mg (130 x 0.50). If you take a medicine that your clinician monitors through liver blood tests, tell them about garcinia and green tea before you start.
Absence of a listed interaction is not an all-clear. It may only mean nobody has studied the pair. The other two rows, raspberry ketone and green coffee bean extract, have no interaction data in our sources either. Green coffee also holds an unstated amount of caffeine that counts toward your total.

How do I do a supplement and medicine check?
Write down every medicine and supplement you take, bring the SodaSlim label to a pharmacist or doctor, ask the question out loud, and keep a log.
The steps below follow the order a pharmacist would.
- 01
Read the label and your medicine list
Check that the safety seal is intact and read the panel. Note any prescription medicine, heart, blood pressure, thyroid, liver or anxiety condition, and pregnancy or nursing, and ask a clinician first if any apply.
- 02
One capsule a day
The label says one (1) capsule daily and not to exceed the recommended dose. It gives no time of day or food instruction.
- 03
Add up your caffeine
The capsule holds at least 138 mg of caffeine. Count coffee, tea, soda and energy drinks against FDA's 400 mg a day reference; EFSA says about 100 mg can affect sleep in some people.
- 04
Keep a simple log
Tick off each day, note sleep, jitters, stomach upset and anything unusual, store the bottle below 30C (86F), and keep it out of children's reach. A bottle holds 30 capsules.
- Bring or photograph the Supplement Facts panel and the caution text.
- List prescription medicines, over-the-counter products and other caffeine sources, such as coffee and tea.
- Ask about timing. The label gives no time of day and no food or water instruction, so spacing is a question for the pharmacist.
If you already started
What if I take prescribed medicine and already started SodaSlim?
Keep taking your prescribed medicine exactly as directed, and call your pharmacist or doctor today.
Do not stop, skip or change a prescription because of a supplement, and do not start one to replace a prescription. That includes any medicine for weight, blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid or mood. If you notice a new symptom, such as a pounding heart, tremor, bad sleep, nausea, dark urine or yellow skin or eyes, stop the capsules and get care. You can report a reaction to FDA (FDA report a problem).

FAQ
Medicine interaction questions
Can I take SodaSlim with blood pressure medicine?
Ask your doctor or pharmacist first. The label says to consult a physician if you take a medication, and the capsule has at least 138 mg of caffeine. We cannot say whether the two interact, and you should not change your medicine yourself.
Does green tea extract affect medicine?
It can. NCCIH says green tea may interact with some medicines. The SodaSlim green tea row is 130 mg of extract with about 58 mg of EGCG. A pharmacist can check your list against it.
Can I take caffeine pills with antidepressants?
That is a question for a pharmacist who sees your full list. The label says to consult a physician if you take a medication. Caffeine can cause jitters and poor sleep, which some people already struggle with.
Do supplements interact with anything I buy without a prescription?
They can. Cold remedies, pain relievers and other supplements may also hold caffeine or similar ingredients, and the amounts stack. Tell the pharmacist about everything, not only prescriptions.
How do I check a supplement against my medicines?
Bring the label to a pharmacist, ask them to run it against your medicine list, and write down the answer. A free interaction checker online is no substitute for someone who knows your history.
Is there any medicine I can stop to take SodaSlim?
No. Never stop or change a prescribed medicine to take a supplement. Weight-loss medicines exist, and NIDDK describes who qualifies, but that is a clinician's decision, not a swap for a capsule.
