Guide
Who should not take caffeine supplements like SodaSlim?
People under 18 and pregnant or nursing mothers should not take SodaSlim, because the label says so. Anyone with a medical condition or a prescription medicine should ask a clinician first. One capsule has at least 138 mg of caffeine, and ACOG advises under 200 mg a day in pregnancy.

The short list
Who should not take SodaSlim?
The label names two groups: people under 18, and pregnant or nursing mothers. It also says to consult a physician before use, especially with a medication or a medical condition.
That second sentence covers a long list in practice. Each SodaSlim capsule has at least 138 mg of caffeine, plus green tea and garcinia extracts that appear in liver reports. The cases below explain why a clinician conversation comes before the first capsule, not after a problem.
This is general information from the label and public sources. It cannot tell you whether the capsule suits you.
| Who | What the label says | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Under 18 | Not for use | The label rules it out |
| Pregnant or nursing | Not for use | ACOG: under 200 mg caffeine a day |
| Taking a medicine | Consult a physician first | Caffeine and green tea extract can interact |
| Any medical condition | Consult a physician first | Heart, blood pressure, liver, thyroid, diabetes |
Pregnancy and nursing
Can you take SodaSlim during pregnancy or while nursing?
No. The label says SodaSlim is not for use by pregnant or nursing mothers.
The caffeine numbers explain the caution. ACOG advises pregnant women to keep caffeine under 200 mg a day (ACOG, caffeine in pregnancy), and EFSA gives the same figure as its pregnancy line (EFSA, caffeine safe intakes). One capsule has at least 138 mg of caffeine, which is 69% of that line (138 / 200), before any coffee or tea. A single 8-ounce coffee at about 95 mg would bring the day to 233 mg (138 + 95), over it.
The capsule also holds four other extracts, and we found no source that tested any of them in pregnancy or in nursing. If you are trying to become pregnant, ask your clinician before you start, since the label gives no guidance for that stage.
The caffeine budget shows how quickly a day reaches 200 mg, whatever your situation.
Under 18
Is SodaSlim for teenagers or anyone under 18?
No. The label says it is not for use by individuals under 18. Adults 18 and over only.
We cite no study of this capsule in young people, and none of the weight sources we read tested it in teenagers. A parent worried about a teen's weight, eating or energy should start with a pediatrician. CDC describes healthy weight as food, activity, sleep and stress together, and says fad diets tend not to last (CDC, About Healthy Weight and Growth). The page on healthy-weight basics goes through those habits.
Heart and blood pressure
Can you take SodaSlim with high blood pressure?
Ask your clinician first. The label says to consult a physician with a medical condition, and high blood pressure is one.
Normal blood pressure is under 120/80, and high blood pressure usually has no symptoms, so many people do not know their number (CDC, High blood pressure) (NHLBI, High blood pressure). A reading of 180/120 with symptoms is an emergency (AHA, BP readings). Caffeine can cause a faster heartbeat and jitters, according to FDA and EFSA, and the capsule adds at least 138 mg to whatever you already drink (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine).
We make no claim that SodaSlim raises or lowers blood pressure, and we found no trial of it that measured blood pressure. The same caution applies to a heart rhythm problem, anxiety or trouble sleeping: bring the label to your appointment and let the clinician judge.
Self-check
Which other conditions mean asking a clinician first?
Liver disease, thyroid conditions, diabetes, any heart condition and any prescription medicine all mean asking first.
Answer the eight questions below. Any "yes" is a reason to talk to a doctor or pharmacist before taking the capsule, and a few say to stop.

What if I already take prescribed medicine?
Keep taking it exactly as directed, and ask your doctor or pharmacist before adding SodaSlim.
Ask first if you take a thyroid, blood pressure, heart-rhythm, anxiety, depression, sleep or diabetes medicine, or if you have liver disease or a heart condition. Caffeine and green tea extract can interact with medicines (NCCIH using supplements wisely). Never stop or change a prescribed medicine because of a supplement.
The medicines guide covers this in more detail, and the liver guide explains the reports behind the caution.
If something feels wrong
What should I do if I already took it and feel unwell?
Stop the capsules and get care if you have chest pain, fainting, trouble breathing, a racing heart that will not settle, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or belly pain.
Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing: call 911. For milder reactions, tell a clinician what you took and show the bottle. You can also report the reaction to FDA (FDA report a problem).
- Racing or pounding heartbeat, chest painStop the capsules. Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing: call 911 now. A racing heart that will not settle needs medical care.
- Jitters, shakiness, anxiety or no sleepCommon signs of too much caffeine. Stop, cut other caffeine and ask a clinician; FDA says the toxic range starts far above the daily reference.
- Dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, belly pain, nauseaCan be signs of liver trouble, which has been reported with green tea extract and garcinia products. Stop and get medical care the same day.
- Stomach pain, nausea or loose stoolsCommon with caffeine and garcinia. Stop and ask a clinician if it lasts.
- Rash, hives or swellingPossible allergy. Stop and get medical help; swelling of the face or throat or trouble breathing is an emergency.
Signs from (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine) (LiverTox, green tea) (LiverTox, Garcinia cambogia) (FDA report a problem). This list is not complete. A supplement is never a reason to wait.
If you took it while pregnant or under 18 before reading the label, call a clinician today. Do not wait for symptoms.
Next step
What if none of this applies to me?
Then the label's direction is one capsule daily, and the sensible next step is still to read the whole label first.
The front line is “Metabolic & Appetite Support*”, a starred statement FDA has not evaluated, and no trial tested the capsule. Read how to use it and the supplement facts before you decide. SodaSlim is a capsule, not a soda or a drink.
FAQ
Who should not take SodaSlim: questions
Can kids or teens take SodaSlim?
No. The label says it is not for use by individuals under 18, and this site is for adults. If a teen has concerns about weight or energy, a pediatrician is the right starting point, not a supplement.
Is SodaSlim okay while breastfeeding?
No. The label says it is not for use by pregnant or nursing mothers. Ask a clinician about any caffeine you take while nursing.
Can people with anxiety take caffeine supplements?
Ask a clinician first. FDA and EFSA both list jitters and a faster heartbeat among caffeine's effects, and a capsule adds at least 138 mg to your day. The SodaSlim label says to consult a physician with a medical condition.
Should older adults avoid SodaSlim?
The label sets no upper age, but it asks adults with a medical condition or a medicine to see a physician first. Older adults often take several medicines, so a pharmacist check is worth it.
Who should avoid green tea extract capsules?
People with liver disease, past liver injury, or on interacting medicines should ask first. NIH reports liver injury with concentrated green tea extract, and NCCIH notes interactions. The SodaSlim green tea row is 130 mg per capsule.
Can I take SodaSlim with other supplements?
Ask a pharmacist first. The caffeine in other products adds to the capsule's at least 138 mg, and a second green tea or garcinia product stacks the same ingredients. Bring every label to the appointment.
