Garcinia Cambogia and Green Tea: What the Liver Reports Say
Garcinia cambogia and green tea extract are two of the ingredients that NIH's LiverTox links to acute liver injury, so taking both in one capsule deserves a careful read. SodaSlim has both: about 65 mg of HCA and about 58 mg of EGCG per capsule. No report we found names SodaSlim, and no trial tested it.

The pairing
Is it a problem to take garcinia cambogia and green tea together?
Nobody has tested that pairing for the liver, and each ingredient has its own liver reports, so the honest answer is that the question is open.
NIH's LiverTox says garcinia cambogia products are linked to acute liver injury that can be severe or fatal (LiverTox, Garcinia cambogia). It also lists green tea extract as implicated in acute liver injury, including failure and transplant (LiverTox, green tea). These are separate signals. We found no study showing they add up, and none showing they do not.
Green tea and garcinia are also easy to confuse with drinks. Brewed tea is a different exposure from a concentrated extract in a capsule, and EFSA found tea infusions generally not a concern (EFSA 2018, green tea catechins).
What was reported
What do the garcinia and green tea liver reports actually show?
They show case reports and counts, not rates, so they prove a signal but not how likely it is for you.
A 2025 review of garcinia products counted more than 200 liver adverse events, 34 detailed case reports, 1 death and 9 transplants (van Breemen 2025, garcinia liver). Nobody knows how many people took those products without trouble, so no percentage can be drawn. For green tea, EFSA said EGCG at 800 mg a day or more from supplements raises concern and that it could not name a dose without concern.

The label's 58 mg is about 7% of 800 mg (58 / 800). That is not a clearance, because EFSA named no level without concern.

What symptoms mean you should stop a supplement and call someone?
Dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, and belly pain are the signs to act on the same day.
Liver injury can begin quietly. If you feel unwell soon after starting any supplement, stop it and call a clinician, and bring the bottle so they can read the label. Report reactions to the FDA (FDA report a problem).
